Café Kipos which means “garden” in Greek is situated in the center of the city and is part of Chania’s municipal garden. The café dates back to the 1870’s with a number of important Greek personalities having visited over the years.

Kipos has been named the only historic café in Greece and one of the oldest in Europe. Besides the old artifacts found around its premises, the café holds a permanent photography exhibition where you can learn all about its history from the establishment in the 1870’s until today.
