1. Vai Palm Beach (Finikodasos)
The palm beach of Vai or Finikodasos as it is called in Greek is one of the most popular beaches in Crete. It is the largest natural palm forest in Europe with over 6000 palm trees. The beach is beautiful with gorgeous waters before you and palm trees behind you. A truly extraordinary experience.
2. Voulisma Beach
Voulisma could easily be the best beach, not just for Lassithi but for the whole of Crete. The beach is certified with the blue flag as it has met the high standards of Foundation for Environmental Education. That alone should have you convinced. If it hasn’t a glimpse at the magnificent turquoise waters will. If you are on that side of the island, this is a beach not to be missed!
3. Agios Panteleimonas Beach
The beach of Agios Panteleimonas is very close to the one of Voulisma, which means it has the same gorgeous turquoise waters! Agios Panteleimonas however is a little more private and has more of a family appeal. The church of Agios Panteleimonas is located by the beach so ensure to pay a visit!
4. Kouremenos Beach
Kouremenos beach is one of the most famous beaches in Greece for wind and kite surfers. So if surfing is your cup of tea, then this would be paradise for you! This beach is considered a great alternative to Vai, so you should give a try if you are located on the east side of the Crete!
5. Erimoupolis Beach
The beach of Erimoupolis is located on the north of the Vai palm beach. It is an astonishing beach however somewhat underappreciated and for that reason it is not busy. Additional you have the ancient city of Itanos a stone throw away if you feel like exploring!
