    Agia Pelagia is a fishing village 23 km northwest of Heraklion and ranks among the best travel destinations in eastern Crete.

    The village is known for its beautiful pebble beach which is popular among the locals and tourists. Even though a small village, Agia Pelagia is vibrant enough with many hotels and resorts as well as various restaurants and cafeterias situated by the beach offering an authentic dining experience.

    Agia Pelagia takes its name from ruins of the Agia Pelagia church which was discovered at a short distance.
