The Heraklion Archaeological Museum was founded in 1883 and has the largest collection of Minoan antiquities in Greece. The museum is comprised by two floors of 27 exhibit rooms that display archaeological finds from Neolithic to Roman times. Make sure not to miss the Phaistos disc, the figurine of the small snake goddess and the bull’s-head rhyton among others.

Entrance fee: Full ticket 10 euro, reduced 6 euro. There is a combo ticket available for the Heraklion Archaeological Museum and the Palace of Knossos and costs 16 euro.

Opening times:  Daily 08.00 – 20.00 (April 1st to October 31st), Daily 08.00 – 15.00 (November 1st to March 31st)
